Pima Cotton Fiber
Peruvian Pima cotton is also known as extra-long staple (ELS) cotton. It generally has a pin of at least 1 3/8” or longer, making it exceptionally durable, softer and highly resistant to pilling. As with any natural fibre, the longer and smoother the filament, the softer the hand.
The Peruvian Pacific coast is the ideal environment to grow the finest quality cotton in the world. Peruvian Pima cotton has a silky lustre and an unbelievably soft hand. It is hypoallergenic, making it an excellent choice for people with sensitive skin. Pima cotton is also more absorbent than any other cotton.
The Pima cotton we use in our collections is cultivated in fields free of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and defoliants. Our Pima cotton is hand-harvested, reducing the environmental impact and improving the quality.
